昨天答應跟Envy分享我這陣子在閱讀啥
孤木愛閱讀,中英都喜歡,其實我也愛閱COSMOPOLITAN, VOGUE, 日本的Vivi, More, Oggi,等時裝女性雜誌,而Popular Science,和有關汽車的雜誌也很愛看!所以都很雜耶....
來來來,來分享你們的最愛讀本吧!

中文系列
現在送上我2004年7月在書展下訂至2005年7月(也是書展再度舉行的時候)才收到剛出版的書那便是李天命的哲道行者>:此書令我執卷上手後無法自拔!這兩天我都埋頭苦幹在完成它...然後有淋漓盡致,如沐春風的感覺!  我誠意推薦你們不可不看的書!

(註:李天命是香港中文大學的'明星'哲學教授,他所授的課堂總是堆滿人至走廊還要多開房播影像,可知他的智慧,humour和charm是多強烈,在香港是一顆閃爍明星!) 李天命便是香港人俗稱的很'寸'-在哲學的討論他的態度囂張,可是他的論證實在太完美,全無破綻,也因此他'寸'還是令人很崇拜他,因為他實在太精彩也令人佩服,所以寸得起也寸得有道理!

:原來李天命出此書便是他退休離開中大的完成禮.此書把李平生把宗教教義,神存在定論,道教,佛學,西方哲學,哲學/科學/社會學等各方教義的謬論,集合起來以最顯淺的文字,最客觀的態度和生活化去批判其中教義的漏洞,每每都一針見血,不攻自破!令人拍案叫絕!
 


中文作家孤木最喜歡是錢鍾書(人獸鬼,寫在人生邊上,七巧文集)和李天命,每看他們一字一句都能心領神會,除了人生思考的正面深層理論,還因他們都生活化去演繹令人容易投入和理解!那份讚嘆跟看到徐福的婚紗照有異曲同工之妙耶!

秘密:當初跟地牛交往,得悉原來也有閱讀和,不禁對地牛增好感,因找到志同道合者也!


~~話說從前~~
愛情小說=>日本推理小說
孤木也有'愛情小說'的時候,13歲那年爸媽往台灣行買來全套瓊瑤系列和亦舒,那時我很沉迷的把所有看清光後便感到很厭和很膩,還不是用一個範本略變而衍生出來的系列而已.接著便愛上夏樹靜子和赤村次郎的偵探推理系列,那些三色貓系列>那時候我都覺得好好看...過了一段日子,我發覺日本人對人生和愛情的扭曲思想,悲觀自殘的行為,男女不平等的價值觀等感到會看壞腦筋,孤木便禁絕日本讀本!

接著便看,這是人生必讀本之一!其實我看此書超過無數遍,其他書也有翻看的習慣,很贊同魯迅的見解:一讀再讀而三讀,因人的成長和認知,再讀該本讀物感受已不同,所得扉淺!

沉醉回憶和身在異鄉的飄泊
年少時孤木獨個兒在多倫多求學便很愛閱白先勇的作品:
首先是台北人>:寫盡上海國民黨跑到台灣後那不斷回憶上海光輝歲,但回憶所帶來的，都不是完滿的幸福!  接著,寂寞的十七歲>,,,等小說中,內容則主要寫時間的悲劇和性格的悲劇。等則道出中國人身在異鄉的飄泊感.

武俠世界
接著,因為那時候曾經租住房間,房東在租我的房間存放一系列武俠小說,所以有看起古龍和金庸
古龍的主角總是醉漢愛上壞女人被玩弄於手中,而在刀鋒交劍之間的文筆是比較少,令人失望...深刻的有,而可算是有別他一般手法的作品
有說古龍根本就是男主角而他終日流連夜總會所以遇到的女人也是壞女人云云
金庸有歷史背景而且比較複雜,確實很精彩!其實我只看過和沒想到在他小說中如男女都如此痴情專一,現實生活他郤禁住兒子跟愛人相愛,最後有說其兒子跟愛人自殺去耶.......
回想起來在多倫多的日子蠻閒耶時間蠻多耶.......可以看這麼多小說耶....

佛學和中國古代教義
接著便因在多倫多大學有副修哲學科目對存在定論和神存論,邏輯推理起了更大的好奇
不過佛學真的很深,但教義更深遠
感恩憑蔡志忠的漫畫系列是以最深入淺出的表達,令人最易明白和了解其中含意
青年時代便看他的
而閱這些漫畫便不會被爸媽唸耶,嘻嘻!
去年便找到等,對人生的方向和生活的藝術也有所啟蒙.

 
輔助工具
去年在台北誠品書店裡地牛和我花半天坐在地上閱讀,最後買了台灣作家吕宗昕的K書高手>和日本作家黑川康正譯本獨學術>,這兩本書都能為應付繁忙工作之餘,好好為專業試準備努力的提案!說到最終還是用功努力才能考合格,那便是我們的目標啦!好像年紀大了也難集中耶...真慚愧!

 

English
As a brief introduction, English Literature was my favourite subject during high school thus I enjoyed many readings. 

George Orwell is my favourite. Why?  Simply because we have the same birthday! ...Nah! Orwell's Animal Farm & 1984 are extremely impressive and I was amazed by his vision of Big Brother society and socialism as TV had yet been invented during his time!

Since primary to high school, I participated in Annual Speech Festivals for solo verse speaking, sight reading, public speaking, drama, and duologue competitions, thus I loved poems written by Robert Frost & plays of Oscar Wilde.  

Although brought up & educated in Canada, I could never finish Anne of Green Gables and I fell asleep within 2 chapters...its truly boring!Shame...

Well, most of us went through the days of Nancy Drew, Hardy boys, William Goldings' Lord of the Flies, RJR Tolkins' Lord of the Rings during our adolescence.  Somehow Lord of the Flies guided me towards further tolerance reading voilence, murder & sex fiction: Thomas Harris' Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs.  At that period, popular fictions turned into movies and we were so self-conceited to read the fictions before we watched the movies and criticized how distorted the movies were ....after graduation from UT and joined Deloitte audit in HK, I relapsed to the cycle of watching the movie and reading the fiction instead...  

Now, rather than bragging on The English Patient, Da Vincci Code, The Devil Wears Prada, Catch Me If You Can, Sold, etc. which were all interesting stuffs everyone could spell, let's share something different.

Honestly, there are millions of writers in the States, many have good story twist and great ideas but not in terms of writing quality.  I felt enriched by English writers' writing style and here I recommend the three for your leisure and I am sure just like me, you cannot get your hands off once you start reading: 

Stephen Fry -The Stars' Tennis Balls (I love the meaning of the title!) The award winning writer created a very interesting story of an innocent youngster who was brought up in a the richest & highest society, suddenly encountered a dramatic trap leading him to a never ending change of his life!  This book enlights one the importance of knowledge, wisdom, strategy and mind games! Stephen Frey The Day Trader basically is similar type of John Grisham's fictions except the setting is Day Trading business and writing style is more elegant, which is another fast pace, fun and well written fiction!

Ben Elton - A total different flavour from Fry's style, this fiction is about murder on the scene of American live shows like 'Surviver'...you would be surprised how things would turn out!

Another interesting book to recommend:
Michael Moore - Well, Dude, where's my country is the continuation of the movie he produced "Fahrenheit 911"(華氏911) - with further critizism and jokes of the Bush government!  Its just full of humour, laughter and knowing so many stupid things the great country had been committing into...because of the man in charge!

Yesterday I was enquiring about Dan Brown's latest release as I heard from 倪震 on the radio, many thanks to friends' feedback espcially Wendy to confirm that no new release noted so far from U.S.!
I searched the web & found Dan Brown's 98' novel called Digital Fortress involving Email Scandals, Mister Ngai is such an idiot!
